Guillermo DeNovais-Pimentel's
approach to Argentine Tango is based on the ability to lead gently yet assertively, to find the opportunities to spontaneously choreograph three minutes of body dialog. That is, to speak words without words in a respectful dialog on the basis of full awareness of the follower’s energy, space, position and time.

For him, execution is either an invitation or a command depending on the common mood, the energy, and the musical expression of the couple yet never grotesque or a transgression. Its fundamental elements are the thorough understanding of a Tango Vocabulary and the rigor of academic technique to create the conditions for the follower’s choice of expression.
Julie-Marie Bessette teaches Argentine Tango with a focus on energy and power in the follower's role.  She feels it is critical that a follower employ both energies of following and leading throughout a dance, while maintaining the perfect technique that allows a follower to dance efficiently, freeing up the body and the mind to enjoy the dance and express the music.

She prefers to see followers dancing - not just "following" - with passion, energy and power. People must dance Tango the way they'd like to live life!
